ABOUT THIS SITE
Interior of Saint Magnus Cathedral. Orkney, Scotland, United Kingdom.
Saint Magnus Cathedral, with the warm and secure affect of its richly colored and heavily-hewn stone spaces, seems to serve especially well as the northernmost bastion of British Christendom. Unlike England's Durham Cathedral, which prefigured the advent of the Gothic paradigm in Briton, with the decoration of its Romanesque forms with a number of Gothic embellishments, the Gothic features of Saint Magnus, such as the pointed arches, ribbed stone ceiling vaults, and tracery of the Chancel, were added to the Cathedral's Romanesque structure after the fact. The juxtaposition of these influences, which is evident in many of the churches that remain from this period in Great Britain and France, seems especially compelling here. Dear Visitor,
Welcome! Let me tell you a little bit about my site.
In the course of my work in the Academy and in the Church, I have produced a number of materials that I have wanted to make available to specific persons from time to time, as well as to interested members of the public more generally.
Only recently have services developed on the web which have allowed me to do this in ways that are at once sufficiently simple and inexpensive. With this present service, I have been able to upload large and complex documents, and to present them in a number of accessible and attractive ways, by selecting, arranging, and customizing some of the many utilities and design templates that Weebly has so thoughtfully included in their suite of online applications.
Since I have constructed this site as a tool for making a variety of materials by me and about me available to a variety of persons with a variety of interests, I have included materials from my "Life in the Academy," as well as from my "Life in the Church," and I hope and expect to continue to add to these collections from my Vocational Life as my time and energies permit.
Certainly, not everything here is just as I would like it. It seems that each time I view the site, I am drawn to revisit some of my previous decisions regarding content, arrangement, and style, as I find myself considering also numbers of items that I might yet add. And so, I would be grateful for any suggestions that you might like to offer. You will find complete contact information for me here through a link at the bottom of the red colored links menu bar, which you should see now, on the left side of your screen.
In addition to this, my Weebly site, I maintain a Linked In Profile, which I keep opened to the general public. I also maintain a site hosted buy The Episcopal Church's Office of Transitional Ministry. Therein, I have attempted to present myself in ways that I hope are appropriate for the use of any Congregational members or Diocesan officials who might be interested in discerning a possible place for me with them, in their lives in the Vocation of Christ's ministry. And so, if that is your interest, I would encourage you to begin with my OTM Church profile.
As for Weebly, I recommend the service for anybody who might like to share materials and information with a website that is as simple to build as it is attractive, and easy to find and to use. Indeed, I believe that the range of website building tools that Weebly provides, with the simplicity of their use, make the service a good and appropriate option for persons who wish simply to share their own hobbies or interests, as well as for those with the needs of small businesses, schools, charitable organizations, clubs and associations, churches and other religious organizations, or even local governments, public service providers, or nongovernmental agencies in mind. I have found that the service is at once well constructed, and frequently improved, and in such ways as to remove all of the mysteries of HTML programming and the like out of the process of building a web site. Indeed, even if your abilities as a web designer are very limited, as are mine, you can have a simple but dignified and coherent site up and running in less than an hour. I have chosen to make my website to be on the simpler side of things, but with some extra work, you could produce something quite special and truly unique.
At any rate, I hope that you will find something worthwhile here, and that you will contact me should you find yourself with questions to ask or suggestions to offer.
I am yours Respectfully and with Faith,

A Note on Copyrights and Citations: I am interested in architecture generally, and in church architecture especially. I am therefore grateful for the opportunity to decorate this site with a selection of pictures of some of my favorite churches. As I searched and selected digital pictures for the site, I have tried to respect copyrights in the process. If, however, you know or suspect that I may have violated somebody's rights, or failed to credit somebody else's materials, please do not hesitate to contact me, and I will address the matter as quickly and completely as I can.
